From the Dan Prebe Benefit Committee:

Dear King of The Hill Comrades:

            As you may know, Dan Prebe, a prominent hill climb competitor and contributor to the Red Wing, Minnesota and Lake City, Minnesota area communities, was involved in a serious snowmobile accident in February this past year.  Dan is now paralyzed from the chest down and is confined to a wheel chair.

            Due to Dan’s extensive rehabilitation, he and his wife Wanda have made a very difficult decision to close the business they have built from the ground up, Prebe’s Auto and Light Truck Repair.  Because of this very emotionally challenging and financially trying time for the Prebe family, a group of Dan and Wanda’s friends has organized a benefit on behalf of them and their four children, Nathan, Gabriel, Jacob & Aaron.

            Dan has not only built a successful business within our area, but has also served as President of the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club, President of the Indian Head Cycle Club, is a member of the Red Wing Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous volunteer groups and committees within our community. Dan has given selflessly to our community and others and now we believe that in his time of need, it is our turn to give him something back. 

            We have scheduled a benefit banquet for November 22, 2003 to be held at the Mount Frontenac Ski Chalet in Frontenac, Minnesota.  The Prebe Benefit Committee is actively seeking out businesses and individuals within, and outside our community to donate cash or merchandise to be used to conduct this event.  All proceeds will be given to the Prebe family. 

            We are asking you today to donate to Dan’s cause in any way you feel appropriate.  Your help will speed up Dan’s recovery and well being of his family.  Monetary and merchandise donations can be sent to:

     Tickets are $25.  Many items are being raffled, auctioned and given as door prizes, including a motorcycle, an ATV, a fireplace, some firearms, artwork (prints, sculptures, etc.), furnaces, and, well, just too much to list.  The dinner banquet will be a full steak dinner with all the trimmings.
