Thunder Ridge video!

At the shake-down run at Thunder Ridge ahead of the 2016 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship, there was a videographer getting footage from the ground, and with a drone.  He threw together this video that can give you a pretty good idea of what it all looks like…check this out!

Oh, and in case you’re marking off days on the calendar…you’ve basically got 3 days at this point to get your entries in the mail.  Click the Thunder Ridge logo below to get to the page on the Pleasure Riders website where you can get the form/info pack.

One Week.

It’s June 24th.  Entries for the 2016 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship must be postmarked no later than July 1st.

That’s one week from now.  See below.

2 Weeks Left to Register for Nationals!

On behalf of Pleasure Riders M/C and all the others who have been slaving away getting the new Thunder Ridge facility up and running, I’d like to thank all the riders who traveled from near and far this weekend for the shake-down event for the new location.  There were over 140 entries each day, which has got to be some kind of record for a climb in central IL for a very long time!  Last year’s average for a D17 event was about 80 entries or so…so this was really a fantastic rider turnout!fetters

Over the course of the weekend, we put down close to 600 rides on the brand-new hill, and will be making some minor tweaks before the 2016 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship.  We already had arrangements for additional speakers to spread farther out across the event area, as well as an additional scoreboard to display rider times.  We’re going to be pulling out all the stops to make the Grand Championship a fantastic event, and it was great to have the support, feedback, and excitement from that record-setting group of riders this past weekend!

Speaking of the 2016 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship…there is now only 2 weeks left to get signed up.  All entries must be postmarked by July 1st – so if you haven’t gotten that form in the mail yet, now is the time!  The entry form and information pack is available on the Pleasure Riders M/C website – the Thunder Ridge logo above and the PRMC logo below are both linked to the page on the PRMC website where you can get that form – just click the giant form icon that says “Click Me!” to get started.

If anyone has any questions about the event, there’s a contact form on the PRMC website, as well as contact info in that information packet…or post a note here on the KOTH forums.

TWO WEEKS!  As usual, there will be no on-site or late entries.  Get your entries in the mail no later than July 1st, or you won’t be part of history when the AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship returns to Illinois for the first time in 28 years!  See you there!

Couple quick notes…

cmj200[1]For the upcoming 2-day hillclimb event at CMJ Raceway in Hixton, WI…Northfield Cafe will be on hand Saturday evening to take breakfast orders, which will be delivered early Sunday morning.  And don’t forget you can get a discount on entry fees if you ride the hare scrambles and the hillclimb too!

Also, registration is now open for the dual-sport ride being hosted by Valley Springs M/C – you’re not going to want to miss it if you’ve got a street-legal dual-sport bike!  Free event t-shirt, lunch, dinner, and even free camping if you want!  Go check it out at www.ValleySpringsHillclimb.com!
